Sample Crystal Report

Use the following steps to create a sample Crystal Report.

Step 1.

Open application SAP Crystal Reports, click FILE --> New --> BLANK REPORT

Step 2.

In the Database Expert prompt, select the required tables using which you want to generate report:

Step 3.

Now check the tab Field Explorer, menu option DATBASE FIELDS will list all the columns in the selected table.

Step 4.

In the report designer drag column from the selected table to details section (in report designer).

Note: When you drag a column to Details section, the Page Header is auto populated with the text (same as COLUMN NAME).

Step 5.

To pre-view the data in report press (CTL + R) on keyboard.

This will open the Preview tab in Crystal, e.g.

Step 6.

To Sort the data in the report, select meu option REPORT à Record Sort Expert

Select a column name using which you want to sort your data and add it to SORT FIELD.

The report preview will show the sorted data.

Step 7.

In order to Group results, select meu option REPORT à Group Expert

Similar to sorting above, select the column based on which you want to group results.

The report will list results based on group.
